At Active Blackpool, we have a great team of teachers on our learn 2 swim lessons.
Each bringing their own experience and personality to their lessons whilst ensuring that your children receive quality swimming instruction.
You can meet them all below.

Hi, my name’s Annie.
I have been teaching swimming for a very long time, all ages and abilities.
I am a swim coach, an open water coach, an aquatic tutor and water safety tutor.
I love introducing new swimmers to the water whatever the age.
I swim regularly myself and swim open water long distances.
Outside of swimming I enjoy watching cricket, films, the theatre and meals out.

Hello, I’m Caitlin.
I’m an enthusiastic swimming teacher with over 10 years experience.
I strive to get the best out of my swimmers and teach ages 3 upwards from beginners to advanced swimmers.
I’ve always enjoyed taking part in a variety of different sports.
When I was 14 I competed in my first sprint triathlon which I continue to have a passion for.

Hi, I’m Carla.
I have been a swimming teacher here at Active Blackpool since 2017.
I teach both School Swimming and Go Learn lessons throughout the week at both Palatine Leisure Centre and Moor Park Health and Leisure Centre.
I love sharing my passion for swimming with those I teach, watching my swimmers grow and progress is what I love most about my role.

Hello, my name is Carol.
Swimming was a big part of my family life when I was a child, whether it was on holidays or at the club 4 times a week.
It’s now been 20 years working at the council as a swimming teacher…..and still love it.
My main hobby now involves a lot of water too, trekking up to find waterfalls or swimming across lakes all year round.

Hi, I’m Claire.
I’ve always enjoyed swimming.
I love being in and around water and the calming effect that it brings.
For me seeing the children and adults I teach happy and having fun during lessons, whilst also learning to swim and how to be safe in and around water.
As well as being a Swimming Teacher, I am also a Nurse.
I work on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, caring for patients during their recovery following heart surgery.

Hi, I’m Danielle.
After thinking about it for a few years I got into teaching swimming as I really enjoyed mother and baby swim lessons with my own children so on the back of that I enrolled on to a course and started volunteering.
I only teach part time as I work at the family business too.
I am married and have two children and two dogs.
I love to keep fit, I exercise regularly and play netball.

Hello, my name is Dave.
I have been a swimming teacher for a number of years now.
I am keen to assist and encourage people of All ages to achieve their swimming goals.
I am a great believer that swimming is a fantastic life skill to learn and is a great form of exercise for All abilities.

Hi, I’m Adelia but people call me Dee.
I have always lived near the ocean and have had a love for it from a young age.
Becoming a swimming teacher was sure to be in my genes.
I’m a very happy go lucky person and always try incorporate fun into my lessons.

Hi, I’m Grant.
I started swimming at young age, achieving my Gold aged 12, but then started playing Rugby.
As well as a fully qualified swimming teacher, I am also a Level 2 Wheelchair Rugby League Coach.
I umpired the 2022 World Cup Final of Wheelchair Rugby League, when it was held in the UK.

I’ve been a swimming instructor for three years.
Swimming has always been a passion of mine.
I love sharing this enthusiasm with my students.

Hi, I’m Hazel.
I’ve been teaching since 1999. I love my job and teaching is my passion.
I love to see the little ones having fun and becoming confident in the water.
I also teach and coach for the Blackpool Polar Bears on Sunday mornings.
Outside of teaching I love to bake, crochet and sew my own clothes.
I also run a local YouTube channel that records change and progress in Blackpool.

I have been teaching for over 20 years, and every day I learn something new because the children I teach are all different.
I try to improve my teaching techniques since every child requires a unique approach that I am capable of providing.
I love what I do and I share this passion with everyone.

Hello, I’m Kath.
I have always been active from a young age, swimming being a passion of mine.
I swam for England in Breaststroke and Individual Medley categories when I was younger.
I am now a Beach Lifeguard at Blackpool and Cleveleys.
I love passing on on my knowledge and passion to everyone that I teach.

Hi, my name is Linzie.
I love everything water! The sea, lakes and pools!
I have been swimming from a young age and I love to pass on the life skill of swimming whilst having as much fun as possible!

Hi, I’m Robyn.
I qualified as a swim teacher in 2019.
I have always loved swimming since learning to swim myself through school lessons.
Outside of teaching I have worked at the European championships in Glasgow and taken on the 1 mile swim in the Serpentine in London’s Hyde park.
I wanted to become a swim teacher to help the children and adults I teach build their confidence and have fun whilst swimming.

Hi, I’m Ryan.
I have several years of experience in lifeguarding and teaching, and I’ve always had a passion for sports, especially swimming, ever since I was young.
Being active and helping others stay safe and enjoy the water is something that I truly love!
When I’m not in a pool I can be found most often with my sewing machine, designing and making bespoke clothing for myself.

Hi, my name’s Vic.
I love water, I love everything about it, how it makes me feel so free.
Being a swimming teacher and being able to pass that love onto others is all I want.
When I see how I can have such am impact on others and also give them a life skill it makes me so happy.
When I am not at work, I am at home with my family either playing board games or computer games.
